A few weeks ago, my mother and I got the awesome privilege of taking Brooklyn on a little road trip to Georgia to visit family. It was such a joy to be with her for a full 24 hours and really get to see how she responds, communicates and enjoys herself. She was so fun, her little comments and actions kept my mom and me in stitches. She was a joy.
She is almost 3 now, but more and more she is growing in body and mind. Not yet though to really discern what is right from wrong. She may get corrected from time to time from B&B, but she has not yet fully gained that capacity of discernment. Her conscience is still developing, and absorbing new data all the time.
As Brooklyn and Gabriel grow to adulthood, they will pay attention more and more to the words and actions of others. This programming continues throughout their lives, so every situation they encounter has the capacity to affect their decisions and actions in the future.
Brooklyn seemed to really watch all that was going on around her. She watched us take make-up off, and then put it back on, she watched us fix our hair. She was very observant. Listened to our conversations, more than I have every noticed before. She is collecting data per say. I want to be one of the persons in her life that offers sound life principles because both positive and negative results are added to the program. The ones who disappoint her teach just as much as those who impress. She is watching! Everything we do, she is watching. ~
“Let your conscience be your guide” is a well-known expression, but one that isn’t necessarily good advice. That’s because our moral compass is only as reliable as the principles with which we program it. Brooklyn and Gabriel are being taught by B&B with biblical instruction and training. With that, their consciences will be dependable to safeguard them through life. - The Holy Spirit – our one true Guide.
Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith. 1Timothy 1:5
